Redirector
Redirects you can audit, and a 404 log worth reading.
Redirects accumulate for years and nobody ever reads them again. Redirector logs what is actually 404ing, spots the chains and loops you have built, and can export the whole set as server config.
The free version is not on WordPress.org yet. Its listing will be at wordpress.org/plugins/subset-redirector and goes live with the first release.
What it does
How Redirector works
- Logs the 404s that matter
- Misses are grouped by target path with a referrer and a hit count, so the list is a work queue rather than a firehose.
- Catches chains and loops
- The health check walks every rule to its final destination and flags anything that redirects twice or eats itself.
- Follows a slug change
- Renaming a published post writes the redirect for you, which is the case everybody forgets until the traffic is gone.
- Exports to the web server
- Rules render as Apache or nginx config so the hot ones can be moved out of PHP entirely.
Free and Pro
What each version includes
Pro is an add-on plugin that sits alongside the free one. Nothing in the free list moves behind the licence, ever — and if a Pro licence lapses, the free plugin keeps working.
Free
WordPress.orgThe real plugin. No nag, no time limit, no feature held back to sell you something.
- Manual 301, 302, 307 and 410 rules
- Regex matching with a tester
- 404 log grouped by path
- CSV import and export
Pro
Add-onEverything in Free, plus the work that has an ongoing cost behind it.
- Automatic redirect when a published slug changes
- Chain and loop health checks
- Bulk edit and find-and-replace across rules
- Apache and nginx config export
- Per-rule hit analytics over time
Screens
What it looks like
These are placeholders, not screenshots. Redirector is still being built, and a mocked-up admin screen would be a picture of software that does not exist yet. Each frame says what the real image will show.
