Cookie Manager

Consent that actually blocks the scripts it claims to block.

Most consent banners ask politely and then load the tracker anyway. Cookie Manager blocks scripts by handle before they are enqueued, so a visitor who declines is a visitor who was not tracked.

DocumentationChangelog

The free version is not on WordPress.org yet. Its listing will be at wordpress.org/plugins/subset-cookie-manager and goes live with the first release.

What it does

How Cookie Manager works

Blocks before it enqueues
Scripts are held at the WordPress enqueue layer by handle, which is why declining works rather than merely being recorded.
Defaults to deny
Nothing in a non-essential category runs until a visitor opts in, which is the default the GDPR actually requires.
Keeps a consent record
Each decision is stored with its timestamp, the banner version shown, and the categories chosen — the evidence a regulator asks for.
Finds the scripts you forgot
The scanner walks rendered pages and reports every third-party request that is not yet assigned to a category.

Free and Pro

What each version includes

Pro is an add-on plugin that sits alongside the free one. Nothing in the free list moves behind the licence, ever — and if a Pro licence lapses, the free plugin keeps working.

Free

WordPress.org

The real plugin. No nag, no time limit, no feature held back to sell you something.

  • Categorised banner with a real reject-all
  • Script blocking by handle
  • Default-deny for non-essential categories
  • Consent log with timestamps
  • Cookie policy table generated from your categories

Pro

Add-on

Everything in Free, plus the work that has an ongoing cost behind it.

  • Per-region rule sets for GDPR, ePrivacy and CCPA
  • Google Consent Mode v2 signals
  • Untagged-script scanner across rendered pages
  • Consent receipt export for audits
  • Translated banners via WPML and Polylang

Screens

What it looks like

These are placeholders, not screenshots. Cookie Manager is still being built, and a mocked-up admin screen would be a picture of software that does not exist yet. Each frame says what the real image will show.

Placeholder — not a screenshot
The banner as a visitor sees it: category toggles, an equally weighted accept and reject, no dark pattern.
Placeholder — not a screenshot
The script inventory screen, with each detected handle assigned to a consent category.
Placeholder — not a screenshot
The consent log, filtered to one visitor's decision history.

Waitlist

Want Cookie Manager when it ships?

It is not on WordPress.org yet and there is no date worth printing. Leave an address and you will hear about this one specifically — we record which plugin you asked about, so you are not signed up to news about the other three.

One confirmation email, then nothing until there is something worth saying. Unsubscribing takes one click and no account.

We cannot send email yet — there is no mail provider connected to this site. Your address and what you are waiting for are stored now, and the confirmation link is sent the moment sending works.
